STATEMENT FROM KO-KHAWAN ON MP KHOO POAY TIONG CLAIMS IN PARLIAMENT
12 August 2025, Kuala Lumpur – KO-KHAWAN applauds Melaka MP Khoo Poay Tiong for referencing our Koperasi during his Parliamentary session yesterday.
In his statement made by YB Khoo during the Parliamentary sitting on 11th August 2025 regarding the 12% Return offered by our Koperasi, we wish to state unequivocally that this return is exclusively available to our registered cooperative members, is subject to clearly defined terms and conditions, and does not offer to public.
All Returns are the result of rigorous financial assessment and are benchmarked against key
factors, including inflation rates, prevailing market norms and acceptance, and the longterm sustainability of our business model. Our Koperasi remains committed to ensuring that all offerings are both competitive and responsibly structured in the best interests of our members.
We also wish to highlight all Returns are supported and backed by the business model of credit facility that has been decade-long in existence in our country, recognised by SKM and ANGKASA.
KO-KHAWAN is a Cooperative primarily carrying out the business function of providing loans service to Malaysian Government Servants with funds from members. We are an approved entity by SKM and ANGKASA to carrying out this function for the benefits of our Members. Letter from SKM and BPA code are duly furnished to us for this credit function.
The fact that we are able to offer a competitive return, does not automatically constitute that we are running on empty promises as a Koperasi.
We would be happy for a further dialogue with MP to seek a chance to collectively engage in educating the public on Koperasi service and offerings.
